The Enhancing Community Resilience Programme (ECRP) is a project under the consortia led by Christian Aid Malawi and Concern Universal. The consortia comprises of a number of agencies and implementing partners in the six-year project (August 2011 to March 2017). ECRP brings together various experience and expertise into a comprehensive and holistic package of activities designed to improve food security, reduce vulnerability and strengthen resilience of 820, 000 direct beneficiaries in 11 districts most prone to natural disasters and climatic hazards. The programme is funded by the United Kingdom’s Department for International Development (DFID), Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Irish Aid.
The goal of ECRP is to eradicate extreme poverty and hunger while contribution to Sustainable Development Goals. The outcome of the programme is to increase resilience of vulnerable communities to climate variability and change. Through an integrated approach of interventions households will build resilient livelihoods that are sustainable and profitable, incorporating natural resource management and risk reduction, increasing adaptive capacity and enabling them to have a voice in decisions that affect them.
CEPA is a technical partner for both consortia on policy and advocacy as well as knowledge and information.
