The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) is a membership Union of government and civil society organizations working to advance sustainable development and create a just world that values and conserves nature. IUCN with support from the International Climate Initiative (IKI) is implementing a project, the Alliance for Restoration of Forest Ecosystems in Africa (AREECA). Through the project IUCN has hired the Centre for Environmental Policy and Advocacy (CEPA) as a consultant to develop a national communication strategy, reviewing and branding project reports and producing best/good practices, guidelines backed up with cases studies and reference materials that will serve as a resource for individuals and organizations seeking to implement effective restoration solutions in Malawi.

CEPA’s role involves providing strategic support in the development and dissemination of key documents and reports related to Forest Landscape Restoration (FLR). This includes reviewing, editing, branding, and publishing various reports, such as those on FLR financing mechanisms and harmonization of laws and policies. CEPA also plays a key role in producing high-level policy briefs to advocate for supportive policy frameworks and legislative measures. Additionally, CEPA is involved in developing best practices guidelines, contributing to the development of FLR standards and procedures, and identifying successful FLR practices for documentation and publication on global platforms like PANORAMA Solutions. CEPA’s efforts focus on strengthening the advocacy and knowledge-sharing capacity for effective forest restoration in Malawi.
